A day in and around camp is often not too different from a day at home. We started with a free-range chook baked in the caravan oven plus kumara and beets and stir-fried pak choy.

It was a frosty morning, the kind that gets its legs when the sun goes high. Stunningly clear, warm in the sun.

The undulating hills across the lake.

 Lake Waihola Yacht Club

We walked along the lake and into the tiny township, saw some neighborhoods, and had a flat white. From our outside table in the sun, I glimpsed this across the street.

Chowder for dinner and a few gurnard filets for tomorrow.

There are signs for swedes everywhere this time of year. Sheep nosh on them and apparently bowling clubs sell them. What's a swede? A turnip.

A load of laundry and some local repairs and we're all set for the drive into Dunedin tomorrow.
