Hururu Falls on the Waitangi River

Instead of waves, we're falling asleep to the powerful sound of Hururu Falls, which spans the width of the Waitangi River. Our campground is shown in the last few seconds of the video.

Here's Art preparing to grill this morning while I work on Dr E's Health Tip (we all do our part).

We're within walking distance of the grounds where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed on February 6, 1840. This is NZ's founding document, an agreement between 500+ rangatira (chiefs) and the British Crown (we can all guess how that turned out--oh sorry). Plus we're near the Bay of Islands, so we'll be here a few days.

We hiked over to the falls this afternoon. (Click here if you can't view the vid in email.)
