The Opposite of Interstate: To Bland Bay

The ipad is an extraordinary navigational tool, but it's easy to become complacent and not look too closely at the road ahead, as in on an actual map. Like today, when before we knew it we were suddenly off sealed road and onto gravel.

"Gravel 7 km," the sign said, but it lied.

The gravel went on and on and on and happily Art's a good sport and excellent driver. Remember, it's not just the Rover (which eats gravel for breakfast), but also the caravan bouncing along behind us. We're a multi-part moving machine.

It took at least 20 miles, but once we were back on pavement, the road became a lot easier.

It's a gorgeous coastline.

When we finally arrived it was worth the many miles of slow travel behind us.



We'll be doing some exploring tomorrow.
