Amodeo Bay All Day

To a new airbnb today, on tiny Amodeo Bay. The house has two decks with different vantage points. Either one will do.

We took a walk to the beach, festooned with stone that tells the story of New Zealand's geological history.

New Zealand's rocks record examples of almost every kind of volcanism observed on Earth, including some of the world's largest eruptions in geologically recent times. More here.

Back to the deck as the clouds clear and a little sun brings depth to the hills hugging the shore.

Western sky on fire.

The route north (click here to view map if viewing in email).
