Woo, chefs. Chris and family make pizza every week. Don't we all wish we lived closer?
Chris writes: So it was Homemade Pizza Friday at 747 last night as it is every
Friday. Here’s the basic dough recipe.
Dough
3/4 cup warm water
1 pkg yeast
1 tsp melted butter
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
Next, the toppings (left to right)
Candy cane pepper (mild)
Fresno pepper (warm)
JalapeƱo pepper (hot)
Basil
3/4 cup warm water
1 pkg yeast
1 tsp melted butter
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
Next, the toppings (left to right)
Candy cane pepper (mild)
Fresno pepper (warm)
JalapeƱo pepper (hot)
Basil
Roll out the dough to fit a 16-inch pizza pan. Oil the pan and dust with corn meal.
Cover with sauce and cheese. We use a cheese mixture
of two ounces Parmesan, 1/4 pound of provolone, and 3/4 pound of chihuahua
Mexican cheese.
And since we had fresh tomatoes, we also added
a very thinly sliced Cherokee purple to the top, as well as some leftover Buona
Italian beef. Bake at 500 degrees 20 minutes.
The result was our version of an Italian beef pizza
