Long day from Raglan to New Plymouth, a world of stunning landscape along a secondary road--the only road, really, from point A to C.
With a stop in tiny Mokau (pop. 400) for a flat white and a visit to the butcher.
You'd be surprised how many people take a picture of this place, the butcher said. Got some nice NZ bacon (not streaky).
The 12.7-kilometre (7.9 mi) New Plymouth Coastal Walkway runs right along the coast here. We walked a small piece of it on the way back from dinner, cool evening breezes off the water. Our airbnb is just across the street from the walkway. Your correspondent is sleepy. Nighty night.
