Lazy at Winchester Lake State Park

Mountain air, 60+ degrees, light wind, plenty of sun. Clear sky for the full moon tonight. A relaxing day stretches like taffy.
There's wi-fi in this Idaho park, nestled at the foot of the Craig Mountains.
Occasionally camp signs will make me laugh outright. This one at the fish-cleaning station did.

"There are a couple of loaded apple trees down by the boat ramp--help yourself," the ranger said. So we picked a shirtful (maybe I'll make applesauce)

We met some fun fellow campers here--Jenny and Brian from Vancouver Island.

Dinner tonight: leftover mushroom chicken with sweet potaoes.

Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir, which predominate, catch the late-afternoon sun. Time for green-tea toddies and a campfire to watch one of nature's biggest shows...
...the full moon (in Pisces).

  3. What a beautiful, relaxing camp---can feel and smell the fresh air from your photos.

The fish table sign gives one hope that there are decent sized dinners to catch.

Big sky country just over the Bitterroot. Happy trails.

  4. They have pulled some giant muskies outta that lake, Sev. I saw photos. We need rods and reels (or fishers with too much catch on their hands). Spin, we wish you were right here with us. Nice to step away from wi-fi, though, every couple days.

  5. Wow, muskies to be had---no wonder the sign at the cleaning table.

As much as we love your journal, I've often thought that you need some down time to savor your experiences. Glad you're trying to strike a balance.

  6. Indeed, it's all about striking a balance, honey. We're getting closer to Bozeman, site of our friend's wedding next weekend, so savoring Montana is at the top of our list.

  7. "Oh mister moon, moon, bright and shiny moon, won't you please shine down on me" Old song to sing looking at the stunning moon. I know I am a romantic too.
