Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park Hooker Valley Track

The closer we got, the larger Aoraki/Mt Cook looked. An exhilarating 8.5 miles walking the Hooker Valley Track, the return in a very brisk wind, has left me happily spent, so mostly pictures today.

Art in his protective coloration.

The sheer magnitude of this walk was almost overwhelming.

There are three swing bridges (and did they ever swing) on this trek toward Aoraki's base.

Here's a quick vid of one (trouble viewing click here).

Halfway hut, where we stopped for a little lunch out of the wind.
