Paihia Track

We moved to a new campground this morning, breaking camp, driving 12km, and setting up again before first meal. When we finally ate it was a melange of sweet potato (kumara in NZ), onion, green pepper, cabbage, and eggs. With a beautiful salad on the side, purchased in a bag at the organic farm store and including two nasturtium flowers.

The Paihia track starts right at the campground. We didn't walk the whole thing, just a couple of hours worth to feel the motion. One look at this path and you know it's also a brain workout.

Parts of the trail cross private property, necessitating signs like this one.

The autumn light is everything.
